Photo Taking Tips:

  • Always use a solid background that is contrasting to your dog's colors. If your dog is black, a white background is great. If your dog is black and white, a blue background might be a better option. It doesn't have to be "green" it just has to give the ability to differentiate the subject.
  • Remember that the higher resolution the photo you're taking, the better the end picture will be!
  • Always make sure to clean your camera lens when taking photos.
  • Enlist the help of a second person to assist in taking the pics. They can hold the dog while you do the "count to 3 and pull away" method, or shake treats right behind your head for you.
  • Try saying your dog's words they know, but don't require action from them. I wouldn't say "do you want to go for a walk" because then they'll just get up! Knowing "sit" and "stay" is crucial for photo taking, but to get the ears up and the smile out, it'll usually take their favorite snacks or squeaky toy!

Photo: Truck, T-Rex, Dog House

Have your dog sit on a relatively flat/hard surface and look straight ahead! This one they can pose virtually however to let their personality shine! Just make sure to be on the same level as them. If they're on the floor, you're also on the floor!

Photo: Couch, Chair

Have your dog sit on a relatively flat/hard surface (so as not to lose their feet in the cushioning) and look directly ahead! This one they can pose virtually however to let their personality shine! Just make sure to be on the same level as them. If they're on the floor, you're also on the floor! Make sure that their feet are visible and no blanket is covering them up.

Photo: Rocketship

One dog will need a laying pose (pose 1) (on top of the rocket) and one dog will just need a head shot (pose 2). For pose 1, have your dog sit on a relatively flat/hard surface (so as not to lose their feet in the cushioning) and look straight ahead! Just make sure to be on the same level as them. Pose 2, just get a direct head shot of your pup looking straight at you, preferably with their ears up!

FAQ's:

  • Can I fit two or more dogs in my photos? You can most definitely add additional pups to your photos, the preferred background for that will always be listed above. In some cases (such as Bark 2 Skool) we are unable to fit more than one dog into the frame and additional pics would need to be purchased.
  • Are the photos High Resolution? The photos are resolution worthy of social media and digital use, and printable to a 8x10 size.
