Photo Taking Tips:

  • Always use a solid background that is contrasting to your dog's colors. If your dog is black, a white background is great. If your dog is black and white, a blue background might be a better option. It doesn't have to be "green" it just has to give the ability to differentiate the subject.
  • Remember that the higher resolution the photo you're taking, the better the end picture will be!
  • Always make sure to clean your camera lens when taking photos.
  • Enlist the help of a second person to assist in taking the pics. They can hold the dog while you do the "count to 3 and pull away" method, or shake treats right behind your head for you.
  • Try saying your dog's words they know, but don't require action from them. I wouldn't say "do you want to go for a walk" because then they'll just get up! Knowing "sit" and "stay" is crucial for photo taking, but to get the ears up and the smile out, it'll usually take their favorite snacks or squeaky toy!
